SENIOR COMPLIANCE OFFICER
Purpose of Position
The Senior Compliance Officer plays a key role in strengthening and maintaining the Group’s compliance framework by ensuring that regulatory, legal, and internal policy requirements are effectively monitored and adhered to across the business. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, this role supports a culture of compliance and ethical business practices while helping to minimize the organization's exposure to compliance risk.
What You'll Be Responsible For
In this role, you will support the organization by:
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance monitoring programmes, tools, and reporting mechanisms to support adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Reviewing and enhancing compliance policies, programmes, and procedures to ensure they remain aligned with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and organizational needs.
- Supporting and overseeing AML/CFT/CPF compliance activities, including policy development, monitoring, reporting, and regulatory requirements.
- Assisting with the development and execution of risk-based compliance testing plans across business units and conducting compliance reviews to assess adherence to established requirements.
- Monitoring the implementation of corrective action plans arising from audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance reviews.
- Preparing reports and presentations for Audit Committees and Boards of Directors, providing insights into compliance performance, risks, and emerging issues.
- Serving as a compliance subject matter expert on projects, new products, services, systems, and business initiatives to ensure compliance considerations are incorporated from the outset.
- Developing and delivering compliance training and awareness programmes to strengthen understanding of regulatory obligations and internal policies across the organization.
- Acting as a key point of contact for regulators and supporting the timely submission of required compliance and AML/CFT/CPF reports.
What Will Make You Successful
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Management Studies, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- A recognized compliance certification, such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or an equivalent designation.
- Five to six years’ experience in Compliance, Internal Audit, or Operations within the financial services sector.
- Strong knowledge of the legislation, regulations, and regulatory requirements governing the financial services industry.
- Sound understanding of AML/CFT/CPF regulations and compliance obligations.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience developing policies, procedures, and compliance-related documentation.
- A strong understanding of the operational and technology environment within financial institutions.
- Ability to evaluate compliance risks, identify emerging issues, and recommend practical solutions.
- Ability to communicate complex regulatory requirements clearly and confidently to stakeholders at all levels, including Boards and Committees.
- Strong capability in developing, reviewing, and implementing policies, procedures, and compliance programmes.
- Ability to build productive relationships with regulators, auditors, business leaders, and colleagues across the Group.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within established timelines.
- Maintains a high standard of accuracy and thoroughness when conducting reviews, preparing reports, and assessing compliance matters.
- Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, sound judgement, and the highest ethical standards.
- Ability to partner effectively with stakeholders to drive compliance awareness, accountability, and positive outcomes.
