SENIOR BINDING AUTHORITY UNDERWRITER

Reporting to the Assistant General Manager - Underwriting & A+ Insurance Solutions, Allied Insurance Brokers Limited, the applicant will be expected to:

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Quote on slips for all classes of business (New business and Renewals)
  • Monitor and follow-up on new business and renewal quotation requests to secure binding instructions  (including reasons risks not bound).
  • Check and dispatch monthly bordereaux to Lloyd’s Broker and Syndicates within the specified timeframe 
  • Issue Coverholder policy documents, invoices, endorsements and cancellation notices
  • Prepare monthly new business reports and any other report assigned
  • Ensure that all outstanding premiums are collected in a timely manner from clients for accounts assigned 
  • Assist in the preparation of business cases for additional classes of business and binder renewal reports
  • Assist in budget preparation
  • Ensure that compliance requirements for partners are met
  • Research reconciliations – as assigned
  • Engage in client relationship management activities including travelling to producers
  • Assist with presentations and training
  • Monitor Performance Management system for direct reports within the Department to ensure fair rewards for effort thereby motivating employees
  • Assist with Lloyd’s audit process

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCES:

  • Hold or pursuing a recognised insurance qualification such as the ACII or its equivalent and have the ability to demonstrate requisite experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in General Insurance environment 
  • Sound knowledge of all classes of General Insurance and Personal Accident.
  • Registered Salesman in Motor, Liability and Accident.
