OPERATIONS OFFICER
We are seeking to recruit a suitably candidate to fill the position of Operations Officer at GK Capital Management Limited. The incumbent is responsible for the timely and accurate recording and settlement of investment transactions for both clients and proprietary using the organization’s core investment management system, CSD, Depend, among other settlement systems. The incumbent will report directly to the Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Settlement of investment transactions such as margin loan, mutual funds, equities, bonds, among other investment products.
- Ensuring that securities for all transactions are recorded and that movements of such items are properly authorized, documented and monitored. This involves the execution of trade confirmation letters, audit confirmations and client statements.
- Ensuring that office correspondence, client information, and other sensitive documentation are accurately filed within the specified time frames and adherence to data privacy regulations.
- Establish and maintain client profile (s) in applicable systems
- Reconciliation of investments assets for both clients and proprietor.
- Ensuring that payments are processed in payment systems in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
- Administer sound operational risk management processes relying on compliance and service standards established by the companies and regulatory bodies.
- Administer security documents for the lending business.
- Timely processing of client payments in external systems.
- Ensuring the timely clearing of bank reconciliation.
- Provide accurate and timely information to internal and external clients.
- Provide information to the Accounts Unit for the preparation of the financial statements
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Management Studies, Economics, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience within a financial institution.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices relating to investment products.
- Working knowledge of settlement procedures and settlement systems.
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements for securities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent strategic thinking ability
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
- Results oriented
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically excel and word
