NETWORK SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

 

 

Purpose of Position

The Network Systems Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the Group’s technology infrastructure. This role is responsible for maintaining and supporting the organization’s network and server environments, while helping to ensure reliable connectivity, system availability, and operational resilience across the Financial Group.

What You'll Be Responsible For

In this role, you will support the organization by:

  • Administering and maintaining the Group’s server, network, and infrastructure environments to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.
  • Monitoring system health, conducting routine maintenance, and performing performance tuning and capacity management activities. 
  • Managing enterprise server environments, including Windows, Linux, and AIX platforms, in both physical and virtual infrastructures. 
  • Supporting the administration of network devices and technologies, including firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems. 
  • Maintaining network connectivity and resolving infrastructure issues to ensure reliable service delivery across the organization. 
  • Supporting the implementation of security controls, system hardening, patch management, and vulnerability mitigation activities. 
  • Participating as a technical lead in infrastructure projects, including the design, deployment, and implementation of new technology solutions. 
  • Managing backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes to support operational resilience and recovery objectives. 
  • Maintaining accurate documentation, hardware and software inventories, and technical standards across the infrastructure environment.

What Will Make You Successful

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a similar infrastructure, network, or systems administration role. 
  • Strong experience supporting and administering Windows, Linux, and AIX server environments, including both physical and virtual infrastructure. 
  • Experience with Active Directory, VMware, and enterprise server administration. 
  • Sound knowledge of networking technologies, including LANs, WANs, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and voice communication systems.
  • Experience supporting technology environments within the financial services sector or similarly regulated industries would be an asset.
  • Professional certifications such as MCP, MCSA, or CCNA are desirable. 
  • Experience administering Apache/Web-based application servers, particularly Oracle WebLogic, would be advantageous. 
  • Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure, networking, virtualization, and systems administration principles. 
  • Ability to diagnose issues, assess system performance, and identify practical solutions to complex technical challenges. 
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate infrastructure activities, and meet critical deadlines. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively. 
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues, vendors, and business partners to achieve shared objectives.

  • Self-motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently while responding effectively to evolving business and technology needs.
