Merchant Services Officer

 

Purpose of position  

                                                                                                           

The Merchant Services Officer is responsible for accurate and timely processing of merchant setup request, perform merchant setup in FCBUS & FDMS, liaise with vendor for terminal deployment and support, monitor merchant transactions, manage security & operational risk, prepare reports specific to transaction settlements / merchant onboarding services, coordinate activities and report generation with 3rd party vendor

 

Principal responsibilities

 

  • Monitor Track-It for Merchant requests
  • Review Merchant applications for completeness and accuracy
  • Log and return all inaccurate or incomplete Merchant applications to the respective branch/BDO/BDE in a timely manner
  • Generate KYC detail from source and create CIF accounts for online applications in the core banking system
  • Open/create new accounts in the core banking system
  • Update accounts as required
  • Perform Merchant Setup and Maintenance
  • Configure and provision new POS Terminals
  • Handle Terminal Inventory & Asset Management – including receipt, recording, storage, inventory control, order initiation, repair management, decommissioning and destruction
  •  Coordinate Terminal Distribution & Deployment
  • Maintain proper and complete merchant files and records
  •  Perform Merchant Termination
  • Handle merchant queries
  • Prepare operational and management reports as required

 

Required Qualification, Experience and Key Competencies

 

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or equivalent
  • A Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Banking with practical experience in performing a variety of support functions.
  • Knowledge of the Bank’s Policies and Procedures
  • Knowledge of the Bank’s products and related service charges
  • Good understanding of foreign currency business is highly desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of routine banking operations and procedures
  • Basic Knowledge of related aspect of law relating to banking
  • Working Knowledge of the AML Policy sufficient to detect anything that would compromise the bank’s position.
  • Good interpersonal and time management skills
  • Initiative and flexibility
  • Ability to plan and organize work effectively
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats
  • Detail oriented
  • Good analytical, problem solving and technical skills
  • Ability to cope with variable workload
  • Must be highly team-oriented
