BUSINESS ANALYST - PAYMENTS

Purpose of Position

The Business Analyst (Payments) is responsible for analysing, documenting and improving payment products, business processes and customer journeys across the Bank's Payments portfolio. The role acts as the bridge between the business, technology, operations and external vendors to ensure payment solutions are effectively designed, implemented and continuously improved.
The incumbent supports the full product lifecycle by gathering and documenting business requirements, analysing operational and financial performance, coordinating testing activities, identifying process improvement opportunities and providing insights that support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

•    Gather and document business requirements.
•    Analyse existing payment products and processes.
•    Prepare business cases and financial analyses for internal improvements, product enhancements and operational efficiencies.
•    Produce business process maps.
•    Support product enhancements by defining business requirements.
•    Coordinate User Acceptance Testing.
•    Develop reports and dashboards.
•    Monitor KPIs and recommend improvements around business performance and customer insights measuring business effectiveness.
•    Perform root cause analysis on production issues.
•    Support regulatory and audit activities.
•    Maintain product documentation (Functional requirements, process documentation etc).
•    Coordinate with internal stakeholders throughout project delivery.
•    Customer and product intelligence
•    Assist with implementation planning by defining what needs to change.
•    Support post-implementation reviews.
•    Identify automation opportunities.

Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge

•    Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance or related discipline.
•    Minimum five years' experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst or Payments Analyst within banking or financial services.
•    Experience with card issuing, merchant acquiring, digital banking or payment systems.
•    Experience preparing business requirements and functional specifications.
•    Experience coordinating User Acceptance Testing.
•    Knowledge of Agile methodologies is an asset.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Excellent business process modelling capability.
•    Experience documenting business requirements.
•    Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
•    Knowledge of payment systems and transaction flows.
•    Strong stakeholder management skills.
