Senior Manager, Fund Accounting
Purpose of Position
The Senior Manager, Pension & Fund Accounting, is responsible for the overall leadership, governance, and performance of the fund accounting function, with oversight of both pension fund and mutual fund accounting operations. The role provides technical leadership, review, and guidance to junior fund and pension accounting staff; ensures compliance with IFRS, regulatory, and accounting requirements; and serves as a key point of contact for auditors, trustees, custodians, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the end-to-end fund accounting process for pension and mutual funds, ensuring compliance with governance standards, IFRS, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Manage the accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and analysis of management accounts for all pension and mutual fund structures.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and the preparation of strategic forecasts for the Company.
- Coordinate and lead internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and internal reviews by preparing schedules, responding to queries, and ensuring the timely resolution of audit findings and outstanding issues related to pension and fund accounting.
- Ensure the timely delivery of audited financial statements within prescribed deadlines.
- Strengthen, monitor, and enhance internal control frameworks, including reconciliations, approvals, and exception reporting.
- Monitor compliance with pension and fund constitutive documents, service-level agreements, accounting policies, and applicable regulations.
- Provide oversight of daily, weekly, and monthly Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- ACCA/CPA (fully qualified preferred)
- Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in fund accounting or financial services
- At least 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Strong understanding of IFRS and regulatory requirements applicable to preparation of Financial Reports
- Knowledge of pension funds, unit trusts and pooled fund administration, legislation and
- regulation would be an asset.
