MARKETING OFFICER
Purpose of Position
The Marketing Officer (MO) is responsible for executing brand and product marketing plans to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention across assigned business units. This role ensures that marketing initiatives align with business objectives, delivering seamless and impactful customer experiences at all touchpoints. Additionally, the MO leads the execution of internal and external marketing initiatives to strengthen brand advocacy for FGB. As a key member of the marketing and communications team, the MO plays a critical role in optimizing marketing operations, ensuring executional excellence, and maximizing the impact of all marketing activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Planning, Management and Execution
- Develops and implements annual product marketing strategies and plans that align with business priorities and the broader marketing strategy, driving growth, customer engagement, and acquisition.
- Leads the end-to-end execution of marketing initiatives for their assigned business unit, ensuring seamless delivery of Experiential, Advertising, Content, and Digital Marketing campaigns.
- Optimizes customer engagement across all touchpoints, ensuring marketing plans effectively drive lead generation, sales conversion, and retention.
- Leverages marketing automation, CRM and data-driven insights to create personalized customer engagement strategies that strengthen relationships and improve retention.
- Manages the strategic execution of marketing campaigns across offline, online, organic, and paid acquisition channels, including Content creation & curation, Digital & traditional media campaigns, Event management & publicity, social media & lead generation campaigns.
- Coordinates internal and external stakeholders to execute marketing initiatives, including third-party execution agencies, cross-functional teams, and strategic partners.
- Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with influencers, agencies, and vendors to enhance product positioning and campaign effectiveness.
2. Performance Measurement, Evaluation and Reporting
- Continuously refines marketing plans by tracking campaign effectiveness, engagement trends, and customer behaviour.
- Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment between marketing execution and brand/product objectives.
- Analyzes campaign performance, customer insights, and conversion data, providing strategic recommendations for future improvements.
- Develops post-campaign reports, translating learnings from previous initiatives into actionable insights that drive optimization and increased ROI.
3. Execution of Marketing Operations
- Serves as the primary marketing liaison for their assigned business unit, ensuring seamless collaboration between marketing, business units, agencies, and external partners.
- Manages supplier relationships, ensuring optimal service execution and adherence to procurement and financial standards.
- Ensures all marketing initiatives are tracked and reported in alignment with the approved marketing plan and business objectives.
- Oversees marketing asset management, ensuring promotional and branded materials are properly accounted for, strategically deployed, and optimized for impact.
- Manages and tracks marketing campaign budgets for assigned business units, ensuring cost efficiency and measurable business impact.
Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge
- A 1st Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or Management, Project Management, etc.
- A minimum of 12-24 month’s experience in brand management, marketing activity planning and execution.
- Formal training in Project Management and/or 2 years’ experience delivering projects
- Demonstrates a provable appreciation and understanding of Digital Marketing and social media and their related tools. Formal training in Digital Marketing is a plus.
- Able to effectively communicate information and ideas in public forums to enlist alignment and support.
- A dual-minded approach, “highly creative and an excellent writer” but is also process-driven and relies on data to make decisions.
- An analytical mind and interest in using data to optimize plans and tactics.
- An insatiable appetite for getting involved and getting things done.
