Maintenance Technician, Welder

Invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of:-

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (WELDER)
 

Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for repairs and maintenance with a focus on (but not limited to) welding.

ACADEMIC/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma in Engineering or HEART Level 3 Engineering Certification
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in computer skills 
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Organized, with strong people skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Workplace safety certification (preferred)
• Experience in AutoCAD or other drawing applications (preferred)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

• Complete all assigned welding/fabrication jobs on time
• Assist with other maintenance activities as required.
• Perform troubleshooting and installation as required.
• Practise Good Housekeeping in workshops.
• Maintain all welding equipment in line with industry safety standards
• Be actively involved in relevant quality and food safety projects 
• Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations
• Lead and participate in safety audits as required
• Use and maintain PPEs in good working condition
