IT SECURITY ANALYST

 

 

Purpose of Position

The IT Security Analyst plays a critical role in protecting the Group’s information systems, networks, and technology assets from evolving cyber threats. As part of the IT team, this role supports the implementation and ongoing management of security controls, ensuring that systems are designed, maintained, and operated in a secure and compliant manner. Working closely with technical teams across the organization, the IT Security Analyst combines technical expertise with a proactive security mindset to identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, monitor threats, and support incident response activities. This role is ideal for a cybersecurity professional who enjoys solving complex problems, staying ahead of emerging threats, and contributing to a strong security culture.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will support the organization by:

  • Monitoring and maintaining the security of the Group’s technology environment, including networks, systems, cloud services, and security technologies. 
  • Administering and supporting enterprise security solutions such as SIEM, endpoint security, mobile device management, intrusion detection, and related security tools. 
  • Identifying, assessing, and helping to remediate vulnerabilities across critical technology assets through ongoing vulnerability management activities.
  • Conducting security monitoring and analysis to proactively detect threats, mitigate risks, and strengthen the organization’s security posture. 
  • Supporting penetration testing, cybersecurity assessments, security audits, and control reviews to ensure compliance with security standards and best practices. 
  • Participating in cyber incident response activities, including investigation, escalation, containment, and recovery efforts.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to implement security controls, apply system hardening measures, and maintain secure technology environments.
  • Contributing to the development and enhancement of information security policies, procedures, and security initiatives across the Group.

Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or a related field.
  • At least four (4) years’ experience in information security or a similar cybersecurity role.
  • Working knowledge of security technologies and controls such as SIEM, DLP, EDR, WAF, IDS/IPS, MDM, and related security solutions.
  • Experience with operating systems and technology environments including Linux, Windows, AIX, physical infrastructure, and virtual environments.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management, system hardening, and cybersecurity risk mitigation practices.
  • Understanding of applicable cybersecurity laws, regulations, and security standards.
  • Professional certifications such as Security+, PenTest+, CISSP (or equivalent) are required; certifications such as CEH, CHFI, OSCP, or SSCP are considered an asset.
  • Ability to evaluate security risks, identify patterns, and recommend practical solutions to complex technical challenges. 
  • Strong capability to investigate issues, assess threats, and respond effectively in a dynamic environment. 
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Works effectively with cross-functional teams to strengthen security controls and support business objectives.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to respond effectively to changing technologies and emerging threats.
  • Demonstrates sound judgement, confidentiality, and a commitment to high ethical standards.
