E-PAYMENT TECHNICAL ANALYST

 

Purpose of position                                                                                                                

 

The Payments Technical Analyst will play a critical role in support the banks internet banking platform as well as managing both issuing and acquiring systems across the bank’s electronic payments (ePayments) portfolio. This resource will ensure that all payment systems, hardware, and related technical infrastructure are functioning optimally, securely, and in alignment with business objectives. The role focuses on gathering business requirements, vendor coordination, systems testing, and supporting the delivery of technical solutions.

 

 

Principal responsibilities                                                                                                         

 

General Responsibilities

 

  • Support the full lifecycle of payment system initiatives, from requirements gathering and documentation through testing, implementation, and ongoing technical support.
  • Oversee the integration of acquiring platforms, devices, and eCommerce solutions to ensure secure, seamless, and reliable operations.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and technology partners to ensure timely and effective delivery of solutions, including overseeing system testing and performance against agreed service levels.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to payment systems and processes while ensuring compliance with regulatory and security standards, including PCI DSS.
  • Prepare and maintain business requirements documents and technical specifications to support issuing, acquiring, and eCommerce payment systems.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of payment devices, such as point-of-sale terminals, to ensure readiness for deployment and ongoing support.
  • Executes the development of solutions required to integrate complex payment systems applications with other systems to support straight through processing and transaction automation efforts in the business.
  • Executes the development of complex queries or scripts used to monitor sales, transaction activities, volumes and periodic reporting covering all aspects of the banks payment systems (Mobile, Online, ATMS, Issuing and Acquiring Portfolio’s).
  • Work closely with vendors to maintain high system availability and performance, ensuring quick resolution of issues and timely delivery of updates or improvements.
  • Serve as a key point of contact between internal teams and external partners to ensure the proper development, integration, and maintenance of payment products and services including bulk file setups with business and corporate clients.
  • Plan, coordinate, and carry out system and user acceptance testing to ensure solutions meet business and regulatory requirements, and that any issues are promptly addressed.
  • Assist in the transfer of skills gained through training and experience to other members of staff.

 

Risk Management

 

  • Ensure software testing is done according to established guidelines and that documentation of same is maintained.
  • Comply with security measures and internal control procedures to minimize fraud, forgeries and irrecoverable losses and reduce non-compliance.
  • Ensure that all tasks are executed in accordance with established procedures and guidelines at all times

 

Required Qualification, Experience and Key Competencies:  The successful candidate should have:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a technical analyst or systems management role within banking, payments, or fintech.
  • Proven experience managing issuing and acquiring systems, eCommerce platforms, or payment devices.
  • Experience coordinating vendor relationships and managing technology partners.
  • Conversant in Financial Practices and Systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Planner).
  • Some exposure to networking and systems administration.
  • Good communication and well developed interpersonal skills and a strong structured technical writing ability.
  • Must be highly motivated, responsible, possess initiative and have above average problem determination and resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within tight timelines.
  • Familiarity with payment system architectures, integration practices, and testing methodologies.
  • High attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining accuracy and compliance.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organizational discipline
