DATA & PRIVACY OFFICER
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the governance and maintenance of multiple large, sensitive, and high-value data assets.
- Assist in ensuring data is strategically aligned with Business needs and is accurate, available, and accessible.
- Support the organization, tracking, retention, and archiving of all data throughout its lifecycle.
- Maintain data quality and support the optimization of processes, encouraging consistency across business units.
- Contribute to organizational/domain improvements in data management and support data across the data lifecycle.
- Support the adherence to regulations, policies, and guidelines integral to good data management practices.
- Collaborate with data professionals, key stakeholders, and IT specialists to drive system and process improvements.
- Assist in the analysis and mapping of data processes to identify inefficiencies and solutions that enable smooth end-to-end data processes.
- Support the data quality control process, including the sourcing, acquisition, integration, and sharing of data.
- Execute and support the implementation of all data privacy policies and controls within GKFG.
- Data stewardship for GKFG with oversight for data quality and protection of all data assets.
- Support training and knowledge transfer on data privacy best practices and responsibilities.
- Support the assessment of privacy practices of third-party vendors and service providers, ensuring appropriate privacy terms are included in contracts.
- Provide specialized assistance and support to the Financial Group in documenting, mapping, and standardizing business processes related to data management and privacy.
- Utilize and support the use of the Nintex business process tool to formalize, document, and manage key data processes and workflows.
- Ensure that all documented data processes align with both the overall data strategy and regulatory privacy requirements.
Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge and skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Database Management, or any relevant functional discipline.
- 3+ years’ experience in a specialized data or privacy role. Experience in the Financial Services industry is a distinct advantage.
- Demonstrable understanding of data management concepts and tools, such as data governance, data quality, data security, data architecture, and data analytics.
- Knowledge of privacy laws, regulations and standards (e.g. JDPA, GDPR) and their practical implementation.
- Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn business process management tools (e.g., Nintex) for documentation and workflow assistance.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Strong commitment to ethics, confidentiality, and privacy protection.
- Exceptional focus on the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data and documentation.
- Ability to support the delivery and implementation of enterprise data management activities.
- Ability to work in a way that considers impact on other people, organizational goals, and the wider environment.
