COST ACCOUNTANT
(GK FOODS)
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and reporting cost-related data to support management decision-making. The role focuses on monitoring production costs, improving cost efficiency, and ensuring accurate inventory valuation and cost controls.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES?
- Maintaining costing methodologies, standard cost systems, and templates.
- Preparing monthly manufacturing cost variance analyses and detailed cost reports.
- Monitoring inventory valuation, including work-in-process and finished goods, and reviewing costing runs.
- Developing cost accounting procedures, internal controls, and supporting audits.
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives.
- Preparing costing estimates for new and existing products.
- Collaborating cross-functionally to improve cost efficiency and margins.
- Conducting value chain analyses and identifying costing risks and opportunities.
- Assisting with CAPEX proposals and ensuring compliance with IFRS and company policies.
WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB?
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; ACCA Level II or equivalent certification required.
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in cost or manufacturing accounting.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory management.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably SAP, and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, financial reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time management.
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- High level of confidentiality, integrity, and ability to work independently under pressure.
- Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
