COMPLIANCE OFFICER
 

 

 

The Compliance Officer is responsible for monitoring GK Capital Management Limited’s compliance programme to ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures across the organization. The role ensures that compliance risks are identified, minimized, and effectively managed.

 

As GKCM’s compliance lead, the officer will establish and implement standards and procedures to prevent, detect, and address non‑compliance. The position provides assurance to senior management and the Board that compliance controls are effective, understood, and consistently followed. The Compliance Officer also serves as GKCM’s Nominated Officer under the Proceeds of Crime and Terrorism Prevention legislation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

As Nominated Officer, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of the established policies, programmes, procedures and controls to prevent and detect money laundering and terrorist financing activities in accordance with the relevant statutes, regulatory guidance issued by the Financial Services Commission and GK Capital’s own policies and procedures. This includes:

  • Develop GKCM’s annual compliance work plan and periodically review and revise the compliance plan to reflect any changes in regulatory requirements.
  • Submit regulatory reports (to include: threshold transactions reports, suspicious transaction reports, listed entities reports) to the Designated Authority;
  • Review documentation for new accounts opened to ensure all know your customer information and documentation have been obtained in accordance with established policies.
  • Review documentation for accounts opened to ensure files are updated.
  • Monitor accounts for high-risk customers.
  • Investigate the results from the AML/CFT transaction reports generated by the system.
  • Develop and revise, when warranted, the compliance policies, procedures, programmes and controls to reflect changes in the organization’s needs, laws, regulations and procedures, and to advise relevant stakeholders of changes made in a timely manner.
  • Periodically assess the compliance levels of units with the corporate policies, internal procedures and key regulations governing their activities.
  • Interact with Regulators on compliance issues.

 

Qualification and Competencies:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management Studies, Finance, Accounts or equivalent
  • Three (3) years’ experience in internal audit, finance, accounting or operations in the financial sector
  • Knowledge of the regulations & acts governing the Financial Services Industry
  • Knowledge of the various regulations governing Anti-Money Laundering and the Prevention of Terrorist Financing
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to create reports, presentations, and data-driven documents.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to develop policy and procedure documentation
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality
