COMPLIANCE MANAGER

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with developing the strategic direction of GKFG and ensuring the assigned segments’ strategic plans and directions align with the GKFG’s.
  • Report to the Boards of Directors and Audit Committees, at least quarterly, as well as the management of the assigned segments (on an ongoing basis) on the compliance programme of the businesses.
  • Advise the Boards of Directors, Audit Committees, senior management, and the business units of new and proposed/pending legislative and regulatory changes.
  • Work with the Audit Committees, Boards of Directors, and Heads of Businesses to ensure designated Compliance Officers, Money Laundering Reporting Officers, and deputies (where required) are formally installed within each business and or territory.
  • Develop and update policies, procedures, and programmes related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Financing of Terrorism (CFT), and Counter-Proliferation Financing (CPF) compliance as soon as required by the applicable legislation and in any event, at least annually.
  • Develop and update/revise the compliance-related matrices and checklists and programmes to reflect changes in the organization’s needs, laws, regulations, and procedures as soon as required and, in any event, at least annually.

  • Develop, using a risk-based approach, the testing plan for the year for each business.

  • Monitor and test, on an ongoing basis, the effectiveness of the compliance programmes and take the required corrective actions when and where required.
  • Ensure independent audit of the AML/CFT/CPF compliance programme for each business is conducted in accordance with policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage all independent reviews inclusive but not limited to reviews conducted by the regulators, Group Internal Audit and engaged external parties.
  • Monitor corrective actions proposed and those being implemented to address issues identified arising from reviews.

  • Ensure the completion and timely submission of all regulatory reports to the responsible bodies within the respective territories.

 

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

  • Master’s Degree in Management Studies or related field or equivalent education and experience
  • At least ten (10) years’ experience in the field of Compliance of which five (5) must be at a managerial level
  • Compliance certification (International Compliance Association/Association of Certified Compliance Specialists or equivalent) is desirable
  • Report writing skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of the applicable legislation
  • Ability to interpret, analyse and apply guideline and procedures
  • Ability to develop policy and procedure documentation
  • Effective communication, time management, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
