COMPLIANCE ANALYST

 

 

Purpose of Position

The Compliance Analyst will have the responsibility for:

  • Continuously reviewing the characteristics of transactions for the companies’ regulated and/or supervised entities and filing the relevant reports when warranted. These include, but are not limited to, remittance, cambio, digital wallet and coin exchange transactions. 
  • Maintaining an effective system of filing and storing compliance-related documents.
  • Assisting in the monitoring of the GraceKennedy Money Services (GKMS) Group of Companies network to ensure compliance with operating guidelines, internal policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring the safekeeping and confidentiality of compliance matters for GKMS Group of Companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform transaction monitoring and investigations to identify suspicious or unusual activity and report accordingly.
  • Conduct customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence for new and existing clients.
  • Complete Threshold Transaction Reports (TTR), Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR), and other reports for filing with the designated authority.
  • Monitors transactions and customer activity for compliance with relevant business rules, and regulatory and internal thresholds.
  • Monitors customers’ records for accuracy and completeness and reports accordingly.
  • Monitor adherence to internal policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Generates agreed standard reports for Management review.
  • Maintains relevant compliance records for the required regulatory period.
  • Support internal audits, external and regulatory audits.
  • Be knowledgeable about the regulatory know-your-customer, customer due diligence, reporting, and record-keeping requirements for the products/services provided by GKMS Group of Companies.
  • Maintains established department and company performance standards.
  • Provide support to the Senior Compliance Officer in ensuring that GKMS is aware of and has implemented new legislation and regulations.
  • Assist with regulatory reporting obligations and respond to requests from regulators and other designated authorities
  • Remain current with all applicable AML/CFT laws and regulations changes.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements and operational efficiency within the compliance function. 

Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge

Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or an alternate combination of education and experience.
  • At least three (3) years of working experience in a similar capacity
  • Experience in monitoring a compliance program or working in a regulatory environment
  • Solid analytical skills and great attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of AML/CFT/CPF regulations and best practices
  • High level of personal initiative, integrity and organizational skills.
  • Keen sense of confidentiality and objectivity.
  • Supervisory or Management Training (an asset but not mandatory).
  • Highly developed communication skills and the ability to work effectively independently and with others.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills, with a good grasp of operational procedures, preferably in a financial environment.
  • Quick to learn and adapt when faced with new challenges or tasks, with an ability to swiftly understand key concepts.
  • Strong database management skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to adapt effectively to change.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
