Commercial Manager
Reporting to the CEO – GK Foods Division, we are seeking a results-driven Commercial Manager to lead sales growth, strengthen customer partnerships, optimise route-to-market, and deliver strong commercial performance across all channels.
WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
- Driving revenue growth and protecting gross margins across all sales channels while managing trade spend within approved budgets.
- Developing and executing commercial and channel strategies, including route-to-market optimisation and van sales oversight, to improve distribution and product availability.
- Managing key customer relationships across General Trade, Modern Trade, Wholesale, and Institutional channels while identifying new business opportunities.
- Leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing sales team through recruitment, performance management, and succession planning.
- Overseeing pricing strategies, promotional activities, and trade execution to ensure alignment with company objectives and profitability targets.
- Monitoring sales performance, customer profitability, and key performance indicators to guide tactical and strategic decisions.
- Ensuring effective distribution coverage, promotional compliance, and operational excellence in trade execution.
- Managing commercial budgets, credit risk, and customer-related expenses while ensuring adherence to company policies and governance standards.
- Providing market insights and competitive intelligence to support business growth and strategic planning.
- Maintaining compliance with the Customer Charter, risk management frameworks, and internal policies and procedures.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ senior managerial experience in Sales or Marketing within a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment, preferably in Retail or Food.
- Strong understanding of FMCG channel dynamics and route-to-market models.
- Proven track record of delivering revenue growth and leading large sales teams.
- Strong commercial acumen, including experience in pricing, margin management, and trade spend optimisation.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
- Must own and operate a reliable motor vehicle.
