Cash Processing Officer



 

Purpose of Position

Reporting to the Senior Cash Processing Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting with cashier transactions and ensuring the safe handling of the company's liquid assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record and settle all cashier transactions.
  • Process debit and credit card transactions, as well as per diem requests.
  • Process petty cash transactions and prepare reimbursement requests.
  • Establish and ensure that all customer service standards are maintained.
  • Maintain a high level of vigilance regarding security matters within the unit, including counterfeit currency detection and petty cash float management.
  • Resolve customer complaints in a timely manner.
  • Assign mobile credit card machines to Sales Representatives and provide training on their use.
  • Investigate and clear reconciling items identified during bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare lodgement reports.
  • Report, record, and investigate cash discrepancies.

Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge

 

  • Diploma from a recognised institution, or five (5) GCE O’Levels/CXC General Passes, including English Language and Mathematics or Accounting.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and working knowledge of SAP.
  • Strong numerical, customer service, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, honest and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
