BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

Reporting to the Client & Partner Services Manager, the incumbent will be expected to implement and oversee the administration of insurance and risk management solutions on behalf of direct clients and strategic partners. Support the company’s marketing and/or strategic objectives by attending marketing, or promotional activities to garner new business and build brand awareness. Identify potential customers and broker partners and establish new relationships through networking activities with a view to generate new business growth, renewal of existing portfolios and to strengthen the company as Insurer of Choice.

Our ideal candidate is a dedicated, detail-oriented and organized individual with strong written and oral communication, decision making and analytical skills.

At minimum, applicants should possess the following:

• First Degree in Marketing or related field or pursuing professional Insurance Certification
• Three (3) years' experience in a general insurance environment
• Licensed with the Financial Services Commission with certification in Motor and Property Salesman; Diploma or Certification in Insurance would be an asset.
• Proficient in underwriting principles and practices
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and techniques.
• Strong customer relations and relationship building skills, poise, tact and diplomacy.
• Excellent Public Relations and Presentation Skills
• Strong Business Acumen and skills in Sales Effectiveness, Sales Concepts. Tools and or Techniques
• Excellent time management and the ability to plan, research, negotiate and meet deadlines
