Purpose of the Job

 

Provide support to the Senior Binding Authority Underwriter in all aspects of the A+ Insurance Solutions/Coverholder portfolio by executing new business strategies to generate new business growth, while renewing existing portfolios through advisory skills and market knowledge. In addition, the role involves data analytics and reporting to aid in business decisions.

 

Principal Responsibilities

 

  • Quote on slips for all classes of business (New business and Renewals)
  • Monitor and follow-up on new business and renewal quotation requests to secure binding instructions  (including reasons why risk not bound).
  • Prepare monthly written premium bordereaux for checking to send to Lloyd’s Broker and Syndicates within the timeframe specified in the Binding Authority Agreements.
  • Issue Coverholder policy documents, invoices, endorsements and cancellation notices
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly reports mid-month, end of month and variance analysis.
  • Ensure that all outstanding premiums are collected in a timely manner from clients
  • Assist in the preparation of business cases for additional classes of business and binder renewal reports.
  • Assist in budget preparation and planning.
  • Ensure that compliance requirements for partners are met.
  • Research reconciliations as assigned.
  • Engage in client relationship management activities including travelling to producers as required.

 

Minimum education and experience

  • A Bachelors Degree, Associate Degree or Diploma in Insurance Studies 
  • ACII (pursuing)
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in a General Insurance environment
  • Registered Salesman in Coverholder classes of business
