ASSISTANT MANAGER, BRAND MARKETING
Purpose of Position
The Assistant Manager, Brand Marketing is the operational lead of FGB's marketing function. This role is responsible for implementing and driving integrated brand and product marketing activity that builds FGB's presence in the market, grows commercial performance, and deepens customer relationships. Brand coherence is the governing standard across everything this function produces, the lens through which every campaign, product story, and customer moment is shaped and delivered.
Key Responsibilities
1. Integrated Marketing Planning and Implementation
• Build and drive FGB's integrated marketing plan across brand and product workstreams, delivering results that are commercially grounded and brand coherent
• Lead campaign sequencing, channel mix, messaging priorities, and resource allocation across both brand and product marketing, ensuring the function is always working on what matters most commercially and from a brand standpoint
• Stay current with market developments, competitor activity, customer behaviour, and platform changes relevant to FGB's marketing environment, bringing that intelligence into planning and implementation decisions proactively
2. Brand Coherence and Presence
• Maintain and apply FGB's brand standard across every touchpoint the marketing function produces or influences, including digital platforms, in-branch materials, social media, sponsorship properties, agency-produced assets, partner and co-branded materials, and AI-assisted content produced by or on behalf of the marketing function
• Actively shape how FGB's brand shows up in the market, driving the creative and strategic decisions that determine its distinctiveness, relevance, and consistency across all channels
• Proactively identify brand inconsistencies wherever they appear, whether in marketing-produced outputs, agency work, business unit materials, or any other customer-facing environment, and address them directly or escalate where broader organisational authority is required
3. Product Marketing Leadership
• Receive, assess, and prioritise product marketing requests from internal business units, determining scope, approach, and sequencing before any brief is developed, and aligning with the Head of Customer Experience and Marketing where requests require significant resource or fall outside agreed priorities
• Lead product launch marketing planning, ensuring new products and services go to market with sufficient visibility, brand alignment, and commercial grounding to drive genuine awareness and adoption
• Translate commercial product briefs into brand-led marketing responses, ensuring FGB's products are always positioned through the lens of what they mean for customers' lives and financial wellbeing, and never reduced to rates and features alone
4. Team Direction and Development
• Directly manage the Marketing Officer, Brand and the Marketing Officer, Product, providing clear direction, structured feedback, and consistent development support across both roles
• Set clear delivery expectations and hold both direct reports accountable to agreed timelines, quality standards, and performance objectives, creating a team environment where high standards are the norm
• Conduct regular one-on-ones, development conversations, and performance check-ins with each direct report, ensuring both officers
5. Campaign Delivery and Performance
• Oversee end-to-end campaign delivery across brand and product marketing workstreams, ensuring every campaign goes to market on time, on brand, and with the commercial intent intact
• Ensure return on marketing investment is tracked and visible across all campaigns managed, and that budget allocation decisions are informed by performance evidence and brand and commercial priorities
6. Agency, Vendor and Stakeholder Management
• Manage day-to-day relationships with creative agencies, production vendors, media partners, event suppliers, and any external partners who produce work on behalf of FGB's marketing function
• Brief external partners with strategic clarity and hold all agency and vendor output to FGB's brand standard, campaign objectives, and commercial intent before approving for use
7. Compliance and Governance
Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in brand marketing, integrated marketing, or marketing management, with demonstrated growth in scope, commercial responsibility, and delivery capability across both brand and product marketing workstreams
• Demonstrated experience managing a small team or supervising marketing professionals, with evidence of building capability and holding people accountable to quality and
• Demonstrated experience with brand governance and brand standards management in a multi-channel environment
• Demonstrated experience leading product marketing activity or working directly with commercial business units to develop and execute product campaigns
• Experience managing external creative agencies and production vendors to a high brand and delivery standard
• Experience in financial services, banking, or a regulated industry is an asset
• Familiarity with digital marketing platforms, analytics tools, and marketing technology including CRM platforms
