The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a critical leadership role in driving GK Life’s commercial growth, operational effectiveness, and long‑term sustainability. Working closely with the General Manager, the AGM serves as a key strategic partner—helping to translate business strategy into execution while strengthening the organization’s distribution reach, and enterprise capability.

This role is ideal for a senior life insurance professional who understands the full value chain of the business and is energized by building scale, expanding markets, and delivering measurable results across multiple jurisdictions.

In this role, you will have broad oversight of business development, underwriting, and operations, with a mandate to:

  • Accelerate premium growth while improving portfolio quality and persistency
  • Expand GK Life’s presence across existing and new markets
  • Strengthen partnerships and direct‑to‑customer distribution
  • Ensure the business grows in a disciplined, well‑governed, and operationally sound manner

What You’ll Be Accountable For

  • Shaping and executing GK Life’s commercial and market expansion strategy, including partner and direct‑to‑customer channels
  • Supporting the scaling of the business across multiple Caribbean territories, aligned with regulatory and operational readiness
  • Strengthening operational capability, service quality, and partner/client experience
  • Championing practical digital and process improvements that enable growth, efficiency, and continuous improvement

What Will Make You Successful

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related discipline; MBA would be an asset.
  • LOMA / FLMI or an equivalent professional insurance qualification preferred.
  • Ten (10) or more years’ experience in life insurance, with broad exposure across distribution, underwriting, product management, and operations.
  • A proven track record of delivering commercial growth and business development, preferably beyond pure bancassurance models.
  • Experience working with local market leaders or regional life insurers, with exposure to multi‑jurisdictional operations and regulatory environments considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated leadership in scaling businesses, building new distribution capabilities, or entering new markets.

Leadership Competencies You Will Need

  • Enterprise builder – thinks beyond products and channels to develop sustainable organizational capability.
  • Commercially astute – deeply understands life insurance economics, trade‑offs, and value drivers.
  • Relationship‑driven – a trusted partner to banks, brokers, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
  • Execution‑focused – translates strategy into measurable outcomes through disciplined delivery.
