Assistant Finance Manager
Purpose of Position
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the financial management, reporting, and performance monitoring of the assigned
portfolio. The role also provides information and decision-making support to the Local General Manager, Finance Managers, and CFO – GK Foods.
Key Responsibilities
- Submit management accounts to Group Finance by the 4th working day of each month.
- Prepare and submit the quarterly consolidation package to Group Finance by the 5th working day following quarter-end.
- Ensure the provision of accurate and timely financial information.
- Prepare General Consumption Tax (GCT) returns on a monthly basis.
- Prepare and review variable salary calculations for the assigned portfolio, where applicable.
- Perform monthly reviews of sub-ledger reconciliations and assigned Balance Sheet schedules.
- Review Balanced Scorecard (BSC) information for the assigned portfolio.
- Prepare annual insurance coverage schedules for the assigned portfolio.
- Provide financial guidance to business units to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure audit schedules are prepared, reviewed, and ready for annual external audits.
- Ensure all tax returns are accurately prepared and filed within statutory deadlines.
Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge
- ACCA Level II or a similar professional qualification.
- At least three (3) years’ experience in a similar role.
- High degree of confidentiality and integrity.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to urgent situations.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work effectively.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Sound knowledge and application of current International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
