ACCOUNTING OFFICER - PAYABLES
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
o Process supplier’s payment in accordance with the established FG Accounts Payable
Policies and Procedures.
o Enter approved invoices daily, ensuring supporting documentation is attached.o Dispatch commission statement by agreed deadline.
o Process employee reimbursements and temporary staff payments in accordance with the
FG Policies and Procedures.
o Perform invoice verification quality checks.
o Posting of expenses to the general ledger in accordance with the established allocation as
per business unit and location.
o Maintaining electronic copies of source documents for supplier payments such as invoices,
purchase orders, contracts and CAPEX.
o Prepare and process accounts payables cheques, wire transfers, direct debits and ACH
payments.
o Preparation and posting of Journal entries.
o Prepare analysis of expense accounts as assigned.
o Analysing purchase orders > 60 days old.
o Reconciliation of AP clearing account – default account.
o Maintaining physical copies of approved payment batches.
o Resolving invoice discrepancies.
o Preparation and submission of invoice discrepancy report.
o Contribute to delivery of financial, regulatory and statutory returns within deadlines.
o Provide disbursement list to cash management unit prior to disbursement of payments.
o Obtain signatures for cheques.
Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge, and skills:
o Two (2) years’ experience in an Accounting or Finance Departmento A Diploma in Accounting Studies or pursuing ACCA or it equivalent
o Passes in (4) GCE O’Level or CXC (General) subjects including English Language and
Mathematics or Accounts.
o Knowledge of accounting practices and standards.
o Working knowledge of accounting software would be an asset.
o Specific knowledge in Financial Services.
