Accountant
Purpose of Position
Reporting to the Finance Manager - Distribution, the successful candidate will be processing accounting transactions for the Distribution subsidiary(ies) as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy of reports.
- Perform month-end closing procedures.
- Update the Fixed Assets Register, calculate depreciation, and reconcile the register with the general ledger.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and reports.
- Perform monthly revaluation of foreign currency balances in the general ledger.
- Prepare and submit GCT returns on a timely basis.
- Assist with the monthly accountant’s checklist, budget preparation, and periodic financial updates.
- Recharge and allocate intercompany shared costs.
- Prepare monthly BSC, variance reports, and analyses.
- Assist with external and internal audit queries.
- Monitor GRIR balances and support resolution as needed.
- Monitor and reconcile intercompany (treasury) accounts.
- Prepare general ledger account schedules (Balance Sheet & P&L).
- Prepare and upload/submit monthly consolidation schedules and resolve any differences.
Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Management, or ACCA Level I certification.
- ACCA Level II or an MSc in Accounting is strongly preferred.
- At least three (3) years of working experience in accounting or a related field.
- Sound knowledge and application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and good accounting practices.
- Knowledge of SAP software would be an asset.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication skills to manage internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in the use of computers and related software applications.
- Detail-oriented.
