ACCOUNTANT (TEMPORARY)

(GK FOODS)

 

 

Reporting to the Finance Manager - Project, Analysis and Central Support, the successful candidate will be processing accounting transactions for subsidiaries as assigned. 

 

WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

 

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and reports.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Perform month‑end closing procedures.
  • Prepare and submit monthly consolidation schedules and resolve variances.
  • Assist with the monthly accountants’ checklist, budget preparation, and periodic financial updates.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations and general ledger account schedules (balance sheet and P&L).
  • Maintain the fixed‑asset register; calculate depreciation; reconcile the register to the general ledger.
  • Ensure assets are appropriately tagged; coordinate periodic fixed‑asset counts and update the register with count results.
  • Monitor and track CapEx requests against budget.
  • Maintain the fixed‑asset register for insurance purposes.
  • Prepare quarterly capital allowance schedules for tax purposes.
  • Prepare and submit monthly statutory returns promptly.
  • Prepare audit schedules and assist with external and internal audit queries.

 

WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB?

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Management, or ACCA Applied Knowledge (Level 1) certification.
  • ACCA Applied Skills (Level 2) or MSc in Accounting strongly preferred.
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Sound knowledge and practical application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and good accounting practices.
  • Knowledge of SAP software (an asset).
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills for managing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software applications.
  • Keen attention to detail.
