ACCOUNTANT 
(GK FOODS)

 

 

 

Reporting to the Finance Manager - Distribution, the successful candidate will be processing accounting transactions for the Manufacturing subsidiary(ies) as assigned. 

 

WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

 

  • Prepare and post journal entries and ensure that reports are accurate.
  • Perform month end closing procedures.
  • Update Fixed Assets Register, calculate depreciation and reconcile register with general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and reports
  • Perform monthly revaluation of foreign currency balances in the general ledger
  • Prepare and submit GCT returns on a timely basis
  • Assist with monthly accountant’s checklist, budget preparation and periodic financial updates
  • Recharge and allocate Inter-Company shared costs
  • Prepare monthly BSC, Variance reports and analyses
  • Assist with external and internal audit queries
  • Assist with monitoring the GRIR balances to aid resolution as needed
  • Monitor and reconcile Intercompany (treasury) accounts
  • Prepare General Ledger accounts schedules (Balance Sheet & P&L)
  • Prepare and upload/submit Consolidation Schedules monthly and resolve differences 

 

 

WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB?

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Management or ACCA Level 1 certification
  • At least three (3) years' working experience in accounting or a related field
  • Sound knowledge and application of Internal Reporting Standards (IFRS) and good accounting practices.
  • Knowledge of SAP software, and manufacturing accounting would be an asset
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to make decisions under pressure
  • Strong communication skills to manage internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in the use of the computer and related software applications
  • Detail oriented.
