ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

 

Purpose of Job

To develop, implement and oversee the administration of insurance and risk management solutions on behalf of clients and to generate new business growth and renewals of existing portfolios through advisory skills, market knowledge, follow up and auxillary services to the client’s satisfaction and within the company’s guidelines.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Oversee the efficient management of the assigned account portfolio
  • Identify gaps in cover and up-sell/cross-sell to clients
  • Offer risk review services where appropriate
  • Employ strategies to ensure that renewal and new business targets are met.
  • Check and sign Client Binders and any other documentation according to service standards. 
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Company's correspondent relationships with overseas markets and to be able to guide and implement such reporting requirements as may arise.
  • Anticipate circumstances and their impact and initiate advice on such matters pertinent to proper protection of the assets and liabilities of the clients
  • Interview and provide professional advice to clients on insurance matters as is necessary.
  • Identify markets and discuss with clients for implementation
  • Keep clients fully informed relative to product/market changes which affect their portfolio
  • Bind coverage with Insurance Companies and have documents prepared accurately and in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure that Insurance companies are provided with written confirmation of instructions on or before attachment date
  • Maintenance of client data on our system is kept up to date. Client files must be maintained in the manner directed to facilitate easy access to information (source documents must be maintained)
  • Provide the Broking Services Department with information to facilitate timely production
  • Ensure that payment schedules are consistent with Company's directive and premiums collected promptly
  • Document all client's instruction's/advice and file on the system with date and signatures
  • Represent the Company, as required at various seminars, conferences, as may be necessary.

Minimum education and experience

  •  Diploma in Insurance Studies and or a Bachelor’s degree
  • At least three (3) years experience in the general insurance industry.
  • Registered salesman in Motor, Property, Liability, Accident and Pecuniary Loss classes of business.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license

  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products
